Pallet Lift: The Workhorse Of The Warehouse

Pallet lifts and jacks have become one of the most common equipment additions in warehouses, factories and even storage facilities that are both large and small. A pallet lift is used to easily transport pallets or goods to another location. They are very popular for shipping purposes; for example, at clothing stores, receiving departments will use a pallet jack to place any excess boxes on a wire to ship them out to be destroyed. A pallet lift is simple to operate and provides the operator with an easy alternative to lifting.

A pallet jack is designed with blades that slide under the pallet. These blades then are lifted by a hydraulic motor by the pumping of a handle. There is no need for the operator to have any significant strength because the pallet jack does most of the work. Two types of pallet lifts are popular in the manufacturing industry: the manual pallet jack and the power pallet jack. The manual jack is more effective for jobs that involve moving materials on a ground floor. The manual jack is easily operated by placing the pallet lift under the pallet and then pumping the pending weight to level that makes the steering easier and much more manageable.

When storage needs call for stacking two or more layers or creating pallet racks, then it is best to use a power pallet jack to get the job done. This type of jack provides a small platform to stand on and contains a small electric motor that allows more power in lifting pallets out of pallet racks in order to be moved to alternate locations. Control is a major benefit in using the power pallet jack. It has a throttle for up and down movements of the pallet and even allows you to control the angle of the pallet on the loads or blades.
Pallet trucks are popular alternatives to manually powered jacks. A pallet truck provides a seat for the operator and allows him to maneuver materials up and down without risk of injury and burden. These pallet trucks are designed for premier horizontal movements and working in tight spaces. Very compact, they easily transport heavy duty items to new locations.

There are many manufacturers of pallet lifts and trucks on the market. Some of the key suppliers are Dotcalm Industries, Interhor and Coffing, which provide equipment for all types of lifting and rigging products. Coffing hoists specialize in lifts from overhead to trolleys, including all necessary parts.

The benefits of using a pallet lift for jobs that require it is definitely more significant than the reasons not to use one. Pallet jacks provide the needed strength to move heavy duty items from one place to another, making storage easier and eliminating space concerns. These durable and compact machines can help small or large facilities work faster and more efficiently.
